BPC-157 is a pentadecapeptide (15 amino acids) isolated from human gastric juice, often called "Body Protection Compound" in the literature 1.

Published work is mostly preclinical: rodent models of tendon, ligament, muscle and bone injury, summarized in recent reviews 23. A 2026 review in Sports Medicine covers its regulatory status alongside other unapproved peptides 4.
