Research overview
SS-31 (elamipretide, also MTP-131 or Bendavia) is a tetrapeptide that is taken up by many cell types and selectively binds cardiolipin in the inner mitochondrial membrane 1.
It has been studied in mouse models of mitochondrial dysfunction 2.
